Newsletter Writing, Production, Campaign Strategy, and List Management
Wrote, produced, and managed email newsletters and targeted audience lists for Fence Stile Vineyards and Winery’s monthly tourism-driven marketing newsletter (B2C) and monthly member newsletter for Les Dames d’Escoffier-Kansas City. In addition at UMKC TalentLink, I developed B2C and B2B newsletter marketing campaigns for training programs and workshops in specific fields (healthcare, data analysis, talent development/recruitment) targeted at segmented lists. Email platforms included Constant Contact, Mailchimp, and Emma.

KCUR 89.3 FM – Adventure Email: Researched and wrote numerous themed newsletters for their weekly email newsletter series that drove engagement and site traffic. Newsletter content was also republished as online articles.

The New Territory: Developed regional email marketing outreach campaigns, drawing from data analysis of subscriber base and location across six states. By concentrating on key cities and states as well as subscriber behavior, NT was able to produce targeted campaigns, drive subscriptions for its email newsletter and print issues, and generate revenue.
Event Planning and Marketing

The New Territory Pageturner Fundraiser: As an event planning committee member and board member of The New Territory, a nonprofit Midwest region magazine, I led research and planning for the onsite location for Year 1 and 2 events. I provided guidance on event marketing, food and drink, and other operations to develop the inaugural and successor event from the ground up. In its debut, The Pageturner raised critical funds to help sustain the publication, increased brand awareness and subscriptions, and brought people together from six Midwest states who supported a slow journalism approach to stories about our region.

Child Protection Center’s Cook For Courage Fundraiser: Volunteer since 2017. I provided event planning committee guidance on local chefs and brewery owners for this event, coordinated connections, and cross-promoted via social media. I have also had the honor of serving as a “celebrity” judge at this annual event for nearly a decade. Annually, CPC has surpassed its substantial fundraising goal in support of its mission.

Led event planning and marketing for UMKC TalentLink’s Open House featuring keynote speaker Jennifer Schnack, Vice President of Employee Talent, Development & Experience at T-Mobile, professional development workshops, and a conference.

As a member of the Slow Food Kansas City board of directors, I planned events including a small plate menu tasting at Enzo that included fundraising for Kanbe’s Markets. Provided planning and operations support for other Slow Food events and annual fundraisers such as our summer picnic and fall harvest dinner.
