Based in Kansas City, Missouri, Pete Dulin is the author of four books.

Pete is a seasoned freelance writer whose work has appeared in KC Studio, AFAR, Feast, Kansas City Magazine, KCUR, Startland News, Zócalo Public Square, The Kansas City Star, Crafted For All, Hop Culture, and many other print and online publications. His career is the result of more than two decades of crafting stories, detailed reporting, and narratives about food, drink, art, history, and business.
Publishing, Literature, and Public Speaking
Published by The New Territory in 2024, his Literary Landscapes essay about Miriam Davis Colt and the Vegetarian Settlement Company was nominated for Best of The Net.
In 2023, Pete was awarded a North American Guild of Beer Writers’ Diversity in Beer Writing Grant.
He was selected for the inaugural 2022 Critical Writing Initiative workshop sponsored by the Kansas Creative Arts and Industries Commission.
Pete Dulin founded and published Present Magazine (2005-2011), an online magazine reporting on food, drink, arts, and culture in Kansas City.
He has taught courses and delivered talks/presentations about Kansas Prohibition, Kansas food history, Missouri beer history, and food for the Osher Institute, Mid-Continent Public Library, Kansas City Public Library, The John Wornall House Museum, and numerous private appearances.

He has served as a food judge for Child Protection Center’s annual Cooks For Courage beer and barbecue competition and Slow Food Kansas City’s annual BLT competition for many years.
Community Volunteering
He is a board of directors member of Slow Food Kansas City and The New Territory, and works with Les Dames d’Escoffier and Child Protection Center.
